Dear Cedar Hill Families,
We had a BUSY week here at Cedar Hill! Our kindergarten and first-grade students enjoyed a visit from author Alyssa Capucilli, who shared how her dog Huckleberry inspired her to write the famous Biscuit series! Students learned that they could find inspiration to write using their five senses and the world around them. Our 4th-graders also enjoyed their visit from author Sarah Weeks, who focused on perspective-taking and descriptive writing that paints a vivid picture for the reader. We'd like to thank Jana Berthel, Kelly Tribuna, Lauren Seminara, Jenny Kuhta, Kaitlyn Sacco, Emily Scully, and Christina Henchman for all of their hard work in organizing these visits. Character actor, Sheryl Faye, skillfully portrayed Amelia Earhart while encouraging our 2nd graders to "soar towards their dreams!"
We are excited to host our STEM Fair on Wed., March 25, from 6–7 PM. All are welcome to attend!

Note from the Nurse-Seasonal Allergies - If your child suffers from seasonal allergies, the general rule is, when we spring the clocks ahead you start your allergy meds. This helps to ensure that you are ahead of the blooming flowers and tree pollen. It may also help to eliminate the symptoms that are due to allergies and not confuse those common symptoms with a covid viral infection.
Tips for Managing Seasonal Allergies
● Have your child wear a hat and sunglasses to prevent pollen from getting in their eyes.
● Remove your child’s clothes as soon as they come indoors and wash them to remove allergens.
● Leave shoes at the door so your family doesn’t track allergens through your home.
● Wash your child’s hands and face as soon as they come in from the outdoors.
● Have your child shower nightly to prevent transferring pollen from their hair and body to their pillow and sheets.
